Ingredients:
-
One Yellow Onion
-
2 Gloves Garlic
-
1 Teaspoon Paprika
-
1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
-
1 Teaspoon Cumin
-
2 Teaspoon Garam Masala
-
12 Ounces Crushed Tomato
-
1/4th Cup Heavy Cream
-
2 Bradwursts
-
1 Russet Potato
-
2 Tablespoon Canola Oil
Notes: Currywurst usually uses ketchup mixed with curry powder. However, Erzabet is a character from a country that blended with Indian culture far earlier than real life Europe did. So curry sauces are preferred there over curry flavoured things. It’s because of that, I attempted to make a curry sauce. If you’re used to curry, you will find it a little bland though due to the lack of variety in spices. Also, I have an air fryer so that’s how I cook my fries.
Steps:
-
Take and dice yellow onion.
-
Warm skillet on medium heat.
-
Once pan is hot, add teaspoon of oil.
-
Add diced yellow onion. Cook until translucent.
-
Dice garlic. Add to pan. Cook until browned.
-
Add paprika, cumin, chili powder, garam masala and cook for at least five minutes but no longer than ten. This called blooming the spices and improves the flavour.
-
Add crushed tomato and stir. Cook until the mixture is boiling and then set to simmer.
-
While the sauce is cooking, peel russet potato and cut into french fry shape.
-
Rinse potato slices off in cold water and then dry using a paper or kitchen towel.
-
Coat the potato slices in a tablespoon of canola oil.
-
Preheat air fryer at 400 degrees.
-
Start heating a second pan. Once pan is heated, use remaining oil and add bradwursts at medium heat.
-
Put fries in air fryer and cook for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
-
Take bradwursts out of the pan and cut. If you have time and prefer it, you can sear off the sliced pieces.
-
Remove fries from air fryer, season with salt, put on plate.
-
Put bratwurst on plate and then cover with curry sauce.
